The Art Gallery of Ontario is set to hold a conversation on ‘The role of museums in the moment’ by June 4, 2020. The talk will be held between Franklin Sirmans and Stephan Jost, A necessary discussion by all means considering the drastic changes evolving in the world of art, and the two gentlemen are true ambassadors worthy to take on the non-enviable task.

According to a statement by AGO, Franklin Sirmans is the director of the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) since fall of 2015, he was formerly the department head and curator of contemporary art at Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) from 2010 until 2015 and 2006 to 2010, he was also formerly the curator of Modern and contemporary art at The Menil Collection, Houston. Stephan Jost who has being the director of AGO since 2016 is the host of the conversation,
Considering the ongoing pandemic, the parameter for organizing this kind of event is not yet known , the rule of social distancing has definitely thrown in disarray the spirit of camaraderie found in such museum gatherings. It is not known whether the organizers will move the conversation online, if it so happens, it will just be in keeping with the new norm.
