Peju Layiwola honored in Arkansas
Peju Layiwola, artist and professor of art has been conferred as an ambassador of goodwill to the State of Arkansas in the US recently in recognition of her distinguished accomplishments.

Layiwola was selected as a Tyson scholar at the Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville, Arkansas to carry out research on Melvin Edwards, a renowned African American abstract sculptor.
After her time there she was hired as a visiting professor at the University of Arkansas school of art to teach a course in art history. With a wealth of knowledge in teaching arts under the Women and Youth Art Foundation she established in Nigeria,

Layiwola also volunteered at the Yvonne Richardson art centre teaching children arts and crafts. She also made several presentations at the international Office of the University of Arkansas and at the close of her time was presented the award of the State of Arkansas.
The event which held in Little Rock on April 18th 2020, right in the middle of the epidemic shutdown is in recognition of her distinguished accomplishments.
